Non-Competes, Trade Secrets & Employment Law
Aggressive and experienced representation for key employees, entrepreneurs and businesses.
For over 33 years, I have litigated in South Carolina state and federal courts — mostly focused on business torts and employment-related disputes. Today, my practice focuses on representing key employees, founders, entrepreneurs and South Carolina businesses in non-compete, non-solicitation, NDA, trade-secret and employment law litigation. Deploying technology, deep research platforms, and practical AI – as well as connections to a network of legal professionals — this practice can litigate against the large firms with big head-counts. By necessity, I can only take on a select number of new matters every year. This way, I can focus all our energy and experience on cases that are too important to lose. If your career or company is in the crosshairs of a restrictive covenant or trade-secret claim, I’m here for the hard cases.

Our Practice Areas How can we help you?
Noncompete Defense
Non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants are a threat to the livelihood of anyone who signs one. Most noncompete agreements are unfair, overly broad and of questionable enforceability. We help our clients beat their noncompete and pursue their greatest worth.
Trade Secrets
I defend executives, entrepreneurs, engineers, high-performing sales reps, businesses, and rising companies against overreaching trade secret claims under the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act and South Carolina Trade Secrets Act.
Business Litigation
I represent both minority owners asserting oppression claims and majority owners defending against them in disputes involving South Carolina corporations and limited liability companies.
Employment Law
With 33 years of experience, Andy Arnold is a nationally recognized employment attorney who has successfully tried cases in state and federal court.

Of course, there will be be many matters for which we are not a good fit. On this situations, we try to provide you with helpful information or guidance to decide next steps. The employment intake form is the most detailed, and those matters are evaluated for consultation. Currently we are limited in the number of consultations we can offer. What Our Clients Are Saying Testimonials From the
People We’ve Served
Why Choose the Law Office of Andy Arnold? Yours is the
Most Important Case
Experience
We have helped a lot of people and won some really tough trials over the years. Our team has learned some lessons the hard way but our clients are better served.
I got my start in employment litigation 33 years ago, but my experience grew to encompass several other areas. Over the last decade, I defended more and more noncompete cases and with them the trade secret claims which are standard operating procedure for the corporate bully or the entitled CEO. I also have also gained experience in shareholder oppression cases, and these three areas are enough to take up most of my practice. And that's fine by me.
Client Focus
We have the experience and capabilities of a large firm, but with the personal and responsive service of local advocates.
By limiting the number of cases we accept, we can put more of our time and energy into each case to get the result the client deserves.
Proven Results
Our proven ability to successfully litigate complex cases has caused us to be consistently recognized as a leading law firm by The U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” and Super Lawyers.
This is a distinction held by only the top 5% of attorneys in each state.
